Time is flying by and fall is moving in, although we can't see it or feel it physically by changing leaves or cooler temperatures like usual this year. What we do see is Lucy running and talking and Wilmore coming alive with students again to remind us of the changing seasons. We also had a sweet time celebrating Anthony's birthday this past month.
September has been an interesting month for me (Kylie). I didn't realize it until Anthony said it this way the other day, but I have been acting like I just came off the battlefield. And in some ways I guess I did. I have been adjusting to the pace of true discipleship which we are learning in its nature can feel slow moving. I have been adjusting from a more intense and quick based mission field to one that requires longevity and patience, and I am relying on God to build those fruits in my life. Luckily, God gave Anthony and I both strong loyalty and stubbornness in our beliefs, so we are 100% in and ready for the long haul that this ministry requires of us.
There is such a hunger for more of God that is building in our town this year, and it has been sweet to see so many people digging into prayer, community, and worship in an effort to seek God. Our desire is to work alongside God in the work he is already doing in people. It has been evident in the depth of new fellowship bands we have started, in our house fellowships, and even in our leadership with Inspire that people are ready to give it all to Jesus.
Please be praying for us as we continue our work with starting and mentoring bands, house fellowships, continuing house church, and our upcoming learning community. We don't want to just start well but to do the long and hard work of building healthy and self-sustaining disciples of Jesus. Also join us in praying for encounters with people in our day-to-day that need an encounter with the living and speaking God!
