Over the summer we helped develop the Inspire School of Discipleship! I (Anthony) serve as one of the directors (alongside another Missioner from the U.K.) by overseeing the school and helping lead some of the courses.
Over the years Inspire has created and accumulated amazing curriculum that helps people grow as Missional Disciples (those who abide deeply in Jesus and live missionally in the world). The primary way we have delivered trainings, in the past, has been in-person. We still believe in-person is the best approach, but with the global pandemic we saw a need to offer our trainings online.
In the Fall we launched three courses and it has been amazing to see who the Lord brings to each training. We have participants joining from around the world, such as Ireland, England, Ukraine, U.S. With more shut downs in place around the world we have witnessed the Holy Spirit use the trainings to be a lifeline to people completely isolated from others.
In some ways I've seen the pandemic numb people to the Spirit's activity in the world. The enemy has used the pandemic to pick people off and move them into further isolation. However, I'm reminded of John 5:17 when Jesus says, "My Father is always working, and so am I." God has not stopped working in the world! He is here, with us, continually inviting us to abide and join Him in all of life, even if we're limited to our own home. The school has helped people do just that. And for that I give thanks to God!
