It is hard to believe that we are already a month into 2020! In a lot of ways Anthony and I have been preparing for this year in particular. God has been moving in a lot of ways through our ministry with Inspire not just in Wilmore, but worldwide. We believe he is asking us to focus on making Inspire as healthy and unified as possible before a lot of growth that is ahead, as well as focusing heavily on training and equipping our leaders, or “missioners”, so they feel empowered and able to lead in their contexts. We know that each person involved with Inspire has specific giftings and spheres of influence, and each have a vital role to play in spreading the vision of Inspire.
Anthony and I have been working on a missioner handbook for Inspire missioners in order to unify leaders around our common vision and principals, as well as some practice knowledge and wisdom. We have also updated resources for Fellowship Bands, and plan to start resources for House Fellowships that will be done before the summer. There is also a church plant in northern Michigan that has a growing number of Inspire missioners on staff and is using Inspire principles such as bands and house fellowships as part of their church rhythms. Our plan is to partner with this church plant as one of Inspire’s first “Hubs” - a place that partners with Inspire and can provide trainings and leadership for Inspire in their context. We believe this will be a really vital way to support the movement in the USA because of our country’s geographical size, but also a way to follow what God is doing organically. We are also continuing to lead our house fellowship and plan to start another this spring, as well as our bi-weekly house church, leading the USA core team and Wilmore leadership teams, and are mentoring 8 bands collectively!
It has been incredibly sweet to see how the Lord has provided and continues to provide for us as we do this work with Inspire. Through his provision through others I have been able to help more with Inspire, and I don’t think we would be able to do what we are doing now at this capacity without Anthony and I both being full time! We continue to feel incredibly humbled and thankful for the continual support and prayers we receive daily.
Please pray for us and for our communities, that God continues to give Anthony and I his vision and direction as we lead, and that we follow his guiding and not our own. Also be praying for our family, as we will welcome our second baby girl right at the end of a very busy semester! We are thankful that God’s timing is perfect and know that he is with us every day.
