La Croix Visit

Part of my role with Inspire is to go to different communities outside of Wilmore and help them integrate Inspire principles into their own context. Two weeks ago I visited with folks from the Northern Kentucky UMC district, where we had a discussion about what missional communities would look like in their context. This was one of my first visits I've done outside of Wilmore. I believe God was present during our meeting as I got to hear stories of what He is doing in each community these Pastors oversee! After the meeting one UM elder was eager to have Inspire reps visit with his community and help them start fellowship bands!

Then this past week Kylie and I had the opportunity to travel back to Cape to help with a few discipleship things at La Croix. We had the opportunity to meet with those who are in bands or wanting to get into bands and talk about what's going well and challenges they're facing. Kylie and I loved sharing our passion about bands with others at our home church community. Bands have been such a blessing in our life, so to have La Croix members embrace them is wonderful to see! We also helped my parents launch a house fellowship group.

Kylie and I both felt and saw a spiritual hunger within the people at La Croix. It's encouraging to see how the Spirit has flooded their community since we left over four years ago. When you walk into La Croix's building there's a vast difference from when we left and now. Both staff and members are wanting to own their faith and impart it to others. I love this!

I have to add, as well, that my parents never cease to amaze me! They're right there in the middle of everything. It's really quite amazing to see two people on fire for Jesus after all their years in ministry (and they're OLD lol!!). As my parents opened up their home for others to come join their house fellowship I was just struck by their humility. They allowed/wanted their son and daughter-in-law to come help launch a community of disciples that will hopefully go on to lead other house fellowships. I don't know many people in ministry, let alone just starting out, who would lower themselves to learn from their own child. That's humbling! I love their passion for Jesus. They're never satisfied with their relationship with Jesus. They strive forward, much like what Paul talked about in Philippians 3:14, to become more like Jesus. That's inspiring to me.

That's all for now! Blessings,

Anthony
