I mentioned in our last blog post that we've had a strange summer since we've been disconnected from our typical rhythms and communities. However, over the summer break I was able to finish, with the help of Kylie and Dr. Meadows, a big writing project for Inspire. It took several months, but I finished what we're calling, "Fellowship Bands: A Quick Guide".
This was a difficult project for several reasons. First, the writing process for me has always been a monotonous journey. It takes me a long time to process my thoughts and even longer to figure out what to say! It's amazing how something so simple can be extremely difficult to teach others. Second, most of the ideas and content were taken from other Inspire resources. I combined writings from Dr. Phil Meadows, along with some of my own thoughts. The challenge was making it easy to read and understand for anyone interested in starting a fellowship band. Lastly, the most difficult part of it all was fighting the temptation of distraction! I'm certain the enemy did not want me to finish writing this project. I truly believe fellowship bands have the potential to radically change our walk with Jesus. It's been one of the most life transforming practices I've ever been a part of and I know it can be the same blessing for other people.
Ultimately the goal for this resource was to explain both the "why" and "how" of fellowship band. On top of the written resource we'll be coming out with 5 videos to go along with it. Here is a short description fellowship bands:
Inspire fellowship bands are small groups of three or four close friends who meet regularly for spiritual conversation. Band meetings help us become more committed followers of Jesus, who grow in his likeness from the inside out. They encourage us to keep in step with his Spirit, as whole-life disciples and everyday missionaries.
They'll be available by September 1st and we'll be selling them for $5. If you're interested in receiving a copy shoot me an email.
In Christ,
Anthony
