But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." (Luke 18:16)
Lucy has recently loved learning worship songs. She likes when Kylie and I sing to her. As we do this she watches intently until she can join in herself. The most recent song we have learned together is called, "Goodness of God". The chorus is...
And all my life You have been faithful
And all my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
At one of our House Fellowships a few weeks ago we started singing Goodness of God and I noticed Lucy walking around the room, with a pensive spirit, proclaiming the goodness of God. I couldn't help but picture Jesus dancing with her as she worshipped Him. I have to say it was hard for me to play guitar as I watched my girl sing to God!
Just the other night Kylie pointed out the lyrics of the chorus again, which didn't quite hit me until she mentioned it, that it says "all my life You have been faithful..." Our prayer for Lucy (and now Emmie) is that she will never know a day outside the presence of Jesus. How beautiful is it that she is already proclaiming "all my life You have been faithful"and "You have been so, so good" as a two and a half year old?
House Fellowships have helped us disciple our kids in the kingdom of God. It is where they learn the goodness of God in a close knit spiritual family. The beautiful thing about discipling kids is that they end up teaching you a few things! That night Lucy led me into the goodness of God.
(Nothing like singing to God with food all over your face lol!)
Yes!!!!!! So true!!!!!!
Psalms 8 : “Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.”
Colleen is working on a talk about it 🤷🏻♂️😊
