Exciting News!

It has been a while since we've done a ministry update on this blog! For those who don't know, we moved from Wilmore, KY, in the middle of May and have been living with my (Anthony's) parents since then as we look for a house in St. Louis, MO.

It was difficult leaving Wilmore. It was home to us. Seven out of our eight years of marriage were in Wilmore. Lucy and Emmie were both born in Lexington, which you can hear come out in Lucy's Kentucky accent! Not to mention, Wilmore became a place of healing, growing in intimacy with Jesus, and developing deep friendships and family. We will be forever grateful for our season in Wilmore!

God is moving us into a new season of trust, obedience, and adventure with Him. We have seen Jesus move in many incredible ways. We hope to share some of these stories more specifically, but today we have some exciting news!

In January this year we believed Jesus was calling us to be "all in" as we chose to follow his lead in St. Louis, MO starting new discipleship communities. The Scripture passage that came to us was when Jesus asked Peter to cast out his net (you can read about this in Mark 1, Luke 5, & Matthew 4). Peter, I'm sure skeptical, went for it. He casted out his entire net! When he did the miraculous happened, he caught more fish than he could ever imagine in one haul! Jesus asked Peter if he would follow him and it didn't take but a second for him to drop everything, profession and all, to follow Jesus.

For us, casting out our net has meant trusting God with all of our finances. It has also meant saying yes to starting something new, in a new place, even if the possibility of failure looms over us.

So we casted out our net, seeking to raise living & ministry expenses for 3 years. To be completely honest, I'm sure like Peter, I was super skeptical in the beginning that God would actually provide for everything we needed. But he has done just that, and even more!

As of today, we are 100% funded for years 1 and 2 and we are 67% funded for year 3. The Spirit told me early on in this process that I don't expect enough from God. That I have a kingdom mindset of scarcity. Jesus wanted to show me a different kingdom mindset, one of abundance.

We will share some amazing ways God has provided. I pray you will be encouraged just as much as we have been over the last 7 months!

THANK YOU to everyone who has so generously given to what God is inviting us into. Words truly cannot express our gratitude and thankfulness for joining us in God's redemptive work in the world.
